BOTULINUM TOXIN INJECTION FOR FACIAL WRINKLE REDUCTION

What is Botulinum toxin injection for facial wrinkle reduction?

Most people assume that wrinkles make them look old and tired. As a solution, most people take Botulinum Toxin (‘Botox’ in short) injections in their faces that help to reduce these wrinkles for a certain period of time.
The injections contain small amounts of bacteria which once injected stops the muscles from contracting. They block the nerves from sending signals to these muscles. As a result, the muscles relax thereby reducing unwanted wrinkles. However, the effects wear off in 3-6 months and injections should be repeated. There is no recovery period and the patient can go back to work right away. The patient will feel the muscles relaxing for a few days and within a week or so and the wrinkles will start to fade away soon.
